IC Inbox

*click* Hello, you've reached Zelgadiss Graywords' inbox. Leave a message here and I'll get back to it as soon as I can, but don't leave something fifteen times if I don't respond right away; I can't be online constantly, and I can't exactly carry a computer around Seyruun with me.

Capabilities: Text, Voice, Image, Video

((OOC: Yes, this is his computer.))

[There is a lone ice cream cone in the middle of the screen. A few seconds later, Xelloss moves in and says:]

Hello!

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
... Hello, Xelloss. You've worked it out, then.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Mister Zelgadiss, you gave me quite the run around...

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-11 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
No, I didn't. I just didn't introduce myself.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Is that all you did?

[He regards his ice cream a moment before licking it.]

Well, it wasn't anything pressing.

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know. Being from my world sort of increases the likelihood that you were someone out to break into the royal family, so I was sort of doing my job.

What exactly did you want, then?

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that fine job you've landed yourself in the process of becoming human again. Tell me, would it really be such a bad thing if I were to do so? I have the shining distinction of saving the Prince, remember.

Aren't I allowed to greet an old friend from halfway across the country? It isn't every day such a thing is possible, after all. I thought it would be amusing.

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
I was referring to the possibility of you intending to assassinate one of them. I can't tell who you are over text. It's not like you usually bother with writing letters, anyway.

Oh, yes, I forgot this would still be a novelty for you. It wears off soon enough, trust me. Just wait until the next virus. I don't think we've had one this month yet...

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ah ... you mean that sort of "bad". Well, you never know. I could receive orders to that effect one day.

Oh, how are you to know that? It's not like letters would have worked for Valgaav.

Novelty? I suppose you could say it's novel. It's certainly nothing I've encountered before. You also mention the viruses. I take it you have survived them?

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
And at that point it will be my job to stop you, yes. That would be what a bodyguard is for.

Well, you have yet to attempt to do so to me. It was an explanation for how I failed to recognize you just from your writing.

More or less, at least. I suppose I'm lucky you didn't find me a week or two ago when the last one was going on.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Xelloss' shoulders shake and he unsuccessfully suppresses a snicker.] O-Of course. How admirable.

Why, what was happening then?

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Funny, you're usually better at hiding it than that when you're laughing at me. Losing your touch, Xelloss?

The community swapped people's bodies. You'd have found a friend of mine in my body who would have had absolutely no idea how to deal with you, because I only thought to coach her on how to deal with Amelia and Freion.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Not at all, Mister Zelgadiss... [He carefully tucks his hair behind his ear. Him, losing his touch? Perish the thought.] The mental imagery was simply too much.

[So he says while twirling his forefinger after scooping a bit of ice cream on it. He sticks it in his mouth.]

What a misfortune to have missed your friend during her visit. So Freion is the Inspector you're working with.

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I don't know. There are... certain advantages to my position. [Not that he's actually going to say what they are, but he's mostly thinking of the fact that the city of Seyruun is one giant ward.]

Yes. There's really no point in trying to hide it from you of all people; you'd have found out one way or another anyway.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Really? Xelloss just ☆ smiles ☆☆] Well, whatever they are you must be sufficiently confident to allude to them.

Yes, I just found out from you.

Re: [video]

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
I meant you would have sooner or later anyway, once you worked out it was me.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, and by telling me earlier you would have saved me the trip and gave me no excuse to buy ice cream. Doesn't that make you feel nice?

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You say that as if we're nice to each other on a regular basis.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
How aren't I? [Cue the forefinger.] I believe I have been very civil.

Hm? [His smile fades.]

My, you really have become human again.

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Civil" and "nice" aren't always the same thing.

It took you long enough to notice. But yes. The method's most likely going to come back and bite me eventually, but so far it's actually worked out rather well.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
[He draws closer and closer until a very purple Eye of Sauron his eye fills the screen.]

[It blinks, and he draws back. A hand scratches at his cheek.]

A book's not quite the same...

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
A book? Hm. I ended up finding a computer. Which is really sort of strange, since no one's invented them on this world yet.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? A computer is what? Not a person with a tablet, surely.

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no. I'm sorry, I've had this thing so long I'd forgotten computer actually meant something in our world.

No, it's a sort of... machine. I suppose it must have started out as a device to do the same thing, but they seem to do more or less everything in worlds with more advanced technology than ours.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Goodness. How have you been keeping it hidden? The guilds would be all over it in an instant. What an amazing fuss it would cause!

[identity profile] unluckychimera.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'd been keeping it in my room or my bag most of the time. In any case this one folds up - when it's closed it just looks like a large book.

[identity profile] astralwhirlwind.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you've certainly piqued my curiosity, seeing as you most likely have the only specimen in the entire continent.
