RL with Azula - So you thought you were safe?

Zel was in a very good mood. Quite apart from feeling as if he was drunk out of his mind, he was almost certain he'd actually managed to win an argument with Azula for the first time in... ever. He managed to force himself to stop being smug, being aware, if only through a haze of alcohol he hadn't actually consumed, that this would not be useful in helping Azula.

He was still having trouble with the concept of her not wanting his help - surely if the virus was that bad she should welcome someone willing to help her relieve it? Eventually he dismissed it as Azula being her normal difficult self and decided that she'd surely warm up to the idea eventually. He couldn't help giggling a little at the unintentional pun in his own internal monologue, either.

He hummed happily to himself as he he gave a slightly arrhythmic knock at the door to her room. "Hello, Fire Lord?" he called out.

At around five in the morning, Azula (still cuddled up close to Zelgadiss) started to stir. Even before she was fully awake, she noticed that something was different-- she wasn't craving touch to a fault anymore, and while being snuggled was still very nice, it didn't have the same incredible affect on her that it had had earlier.

Of course, she wasn't quite awake enough to notice exactly who she was currently curled up against.

Zel had managed to fall asleep at some point himself. He hadn't managed to wake up yet - though the splitting headache should be setting in any time now.

She gave a big yawn, opened her eyes... and backed away so quickly that she lost her balance and fell off the bed with a loud THUD.

Zel almost jumped as his eyes snapped open - then immediately shut again as he clutched at his head, cursing softly.

She scrambled up quickly. "What are you doing here?" Of course, she remembered (everything from before she fell asleep, that is)-- but it would be less embarrassing for her if she pretended she didn't.

"Not so loud," he hissed, burying his face in the pillow.

"Get out," she hissed back. "Get out."

"All right, all right..." He forced himself to get to his feet, even if rather unsteadily.

Azula just glared at him. If he wasn't out in thirty seconds, she was seriously considering using a little fire to help move him along.

He stumbled toward the door, still holding his head, which ached horribly. It seemed incredibly unfair that a virus would still result in a hangover.

"Don't go out that way," she snapped. If Dr. Cuddy saw him, she didn't know how she would explain it. "Can't you get a worldhop, or something?"

"I thought you wanted me out," he mumbled.

"I don't want you causing a scene," she said through gritted teeth.

Zel shook his head, wincing when this proved to be a bad idea. "Give me a moment so I can think straight."

"You have ten seconds."

She actually started counting silently in her head.

Zel looked around, trying to figure out where he'd dropped the bag with his computer. There it is... He pulled it out and tapped out a quick request. "There, it's done."

She sat down on the bed, crossing her arms over her chest. "They'd better get here soon."

"I have to wait for someone to see it first. I know you're anxious to get me out of here, but I can't just make things happen."

"Why couldn't you have just gotten your own worldhopping device before coming here? It would have saved me a lot of trouble." Azula knew perfectly well that that was a petty remark and an unreasonable demand, but she didn't particularly care.

"Because nothing in my world has that kind of power." He leaned against the wall, rubbing his forehead.
